The real true Velvet Goldmine story, the beautiful glam rocker of London who disappeared circa 1974, reappeared last night at The Living Room and played a fabulous set, highlighted by his amazing song “Place of Love.” Olivia Maxwell preceeded Smiley with a heart felt really strong accoustic set, in which she dedicated her desert cowboy song “Paso Robles,” to Glamwire publisher/filmmaker Milon Henry Levine. On hand were singer/songwriter Tamerlane Phillips, publicist/private aviation wiz Stephanie Freidman, painter/singer Lydia Sopoliga and novelist/editor Michael Hornberg.
