Osterio De Circo con Spadoni

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

We at Glamwire hold to the airtight conclusion that one cannot travel about a room with a sign above one’s head that says “Stepano is here” (above, left) and be glamorous, but Mr. Stephano Spadoni deserves credit for working on bringing a personal twist on Italian Glamour to New York City. And partnering up with Sirio Maccioni certainly does not hurt his cause. His web site is great for anyone who is an Italiano-file, as the entire staff at Glamwire definitely is. And last night’s Eva Pal Resort Collection at Osterio De Circo, featured luxurious and elaborate and really unique lookin’ one piece and bikini swimwear (above, right) that Glamwire gives a hearty thumbs up to. Our new Pal looks mighty talented. Rock on Mr. Spadoni!

Vicky Does Amsterdam

Monday, January 29th, 2007

Field reporter Victoria Leetsi (above, inset) reports that fashion is alive and well in Amsterdam, and that Ilja Vissar’s show of rust and green and white dresses and pant suits continues to broaden Visser’s original style within a very conservative and classic frame work. The Guilermo Vilas Puma party rocked. Stars Hila Matthews, Fred Flintstone, Metallica, Marylyn Manson, Faye Dunaway, Don Schneider and Larry Weinberg, danced the night away in complimentary Puma Tennis Shoes.
Job well done, Vleetsi!

Paris Couture

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

They are, for many, the most exciting shows in the world. The dresses start at around $80,000, and geniuses like John Galiano (Design for Dior above) and Karl Lagerfield go to town.

Our Rachel Rymar reports from Paris that Galiano evoked the dove gray atmosphere at Dior, and Lagerfield ended his presentation with his huge staff at Chanel behind him as in a high school yearbook class photo. Generally, the talk has been of Galiano’s original colors, Armani‘s Maharjah inspired silks, Valentino‘s welcome light, mainly white show, based loosely on one he did in 1968. Jean Paul Gaultier went stain glass Catholtic procession and also scored a hit with the fashion press.

There are no links to aquire these dresses. Please feel free to contact each house with your enquiries. You CAN however, definitely read about the parties here.

Laguna Beach is Glamwire’s favorite beach on the contintental US. Tara Reid, Bert Lancaster, James Belushi, Porfirio Rubirosa, Gillian Pothier, Bob Weir and the entire cast of Laguna Beach agree. And when you get to Laguna, remember, there is only one Montage Laguna Resort And Spa. Specializing in Ocean based treaments like this one:

“OCEAN RADIANCE ~ 30 MINUTES • $130
A refreshing sea salt scrub helps re-mineralize and invigorate the mind and body. A soothing lotion is then applied to rehydrate the skin.”
You can enter the world of Monage Laguna, by taking this tiny step

IMG ANNOUNCES FASHIONWEEKLIVE PRESENTED BY SEPHORA IN CHICAGO, HOUSTON, DALLAS AND SAN FRANCISCO, Well, its really IMG and Fashion Week that are going through the roof.

The Glamorous Man (Tie Tip #2)

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Overheard in NYC: “I’ve inherited only one thing from my father…the ability to ruin really nice ties.” Glamwire recomends, first off, just being really careful out there. You CAN avoid this…but hey, if you don’t feel like tucking a napkin under your chin and you remain sort of an interminable basket case, well, then you may ask Seigo the world class tie maker (photo above), as we did, who is the best tie cleaner in NYC–there is only one answer: Tiecrafters. These guys are insane. This is a heavy duty tip for anyone. Live in Finland? Take ten ties and Fed-Ex them to Tiecrafters. It’s a four tie minimum at $9.50 a tie, but forty dollars is a small price to pay to begin a journey towards genuinely elegant neckwear.

Amsterdam Fashion Week Begins!!

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

Here at Glamwire, we’re all about emerging fashion. In Amsterdam, pretty much everyone is emerging. There are very few wordwide brand designers, at least yet, but stars Ilsa Vissar and Deryl Van Wouw (Spring ’07 shows number 7 and 8 in the showbox at the top of this page) may very well be on their way. Our field reporter Victoria Leetsi, and Photogs Bart Julius Peters and Henk Van Engelen (Above photos) will cover all the action. And oh yeah, don’t turn around, Der Kommisar’s in town.
